Power Or Reset Check

In the instance of you not being able to see the name of your WiFi/SSID in your devices WiFi Manager, the first thing that you should check is power to your wireless router. Your Router is powered by a black AC-Adapter and should be emitting either Green Or Blue lights to indicate power. Should you router be powered on and you are still unable to see your WiFi name, it most probably means that your router has entered it's default state and would require configuration again. In the default state, the name your router broadcasts would be "Tenda" followed by a set of random numbers and Letters.

Re-Configure Router

To re-configure your router, connect to it in it's default name (Tenda_...) and use navigate to this website from your devices browser: "tendawifi.com" or alternatively "192.168.0.1". When you enter into the quick-set page, you should set the address acquisition to "DHCP". the next step would 🇧🇪 to set the WiFi name and password that you require in the text fields listed below.

Router Check

In the case of your router displaying the message: "Connected, No Internet Access" or "Connected, Without Internet". the first thing that you would do is check how many lights are present on your router or what the state of the light is. In some cases, your Tenda wireless router should have 7 green LED lights on it. The 3 lights that are mandatory for internet connection are: 1.SYS, 2.WiFI, 3.WAN. If these lights are present then you should most likely contact us for tier 1 support. If your SYS light is off, it most likely means that there is a hardware fault with your router. If your WAN light is off, it could mean that the cable from your PoE Box is unplugged, or, the PoE box is powered off, Or, The cable is plugged into the wrong port. The simplest way to troubleshoot this would be to make sure the cable that is coming from PoE Box is plugged into the blue WAN port behind your router. In the instance that your Tenda router has one blue light and it is blinking, all of the steps mentioned in this section are applicable. Should your WAN light still not come on after going through these checks, the next step would be to check your PoE Box.

PoE Box Check

Your PoE Box is a little Rectangle box with Two cables plugged into it, usually left behind your router. The box is responsible for sending power to your outdoor device and bringing signal to your wireless router. It is usually black or white in color with a white LED light on it. Always check if the box is powered on correctly and that the LED light is on. confirm that the two cables are plugged in the correct place. The cable that comes from outside should be plugged into a port labelled PoE on the box. The other cable should be plugged into a port labeled LAN on the box and the other end should be polugged into a Port labeled WAN on your router. If all these cables are plugged in correctly and there is still an issue with your WAN light and internet services, you should contact us on our support line for further assistance.

Speed Check

Sometimes your internet may seem slow and unusable. In some cases, it is an actual issue, in others, it may mean that you are over-subscribed and that you may require to upgrade your line speed. To test this, you should disconnect all devices from your network besides one. The device that you leave on your network should be the one used to run a speedtest. If it is a wireless device, make sure you are within proper distance of your router for maximum range and connectivity. Thereafter, navigate in your browser to https://www.speedtest.net to run a speedtest. If with all your devices disconnected, you recieve the speed that you are paying for, it means that your are over subscirbed or that there is too little bandwidth for the type of services that you are using. You should consider upgrading your line speed. Should you not recieve the correct speed result, there may be a technical issue on the network.
